Our responsibility and the applicability of this privacy policy
When it comes to processing your personal data, we are the so-called “data controller” within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG). This means that we decide which personal data are processed, for what purpose and in what way.
We are responsible for ensuring that your personal data is processed properly and carefully in accordance with the AVG.

This privacy policy applies to information about clients and potential clients, suppliers and potential suppliers, artists, contacts and all other persons about whom Rob Kattenburg B.V. holds information. By “information” we mean personal information about you that we collect, use, share and store. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” means Rob Kattenburg B.V. (trading as Rob Kattenburg), a company registered in Amsterdam with number K.v.K. Your name; your contact details such as your address, email address and phone number; your bank details, i.e. your bank name, account number and bank code/sort code ; while browsing our site, your IP address, your browser type and language; purchase history; information relating to your attendance at and interest in events and art fairs; information about you that you give us in person during our events and art fairs, or by corresponding with us by phone, email or otherwise; and information relating to your purchase of our artworks or use of our services.
We need this information to contact you, to carry out and fulfill the arrangements made with you. We may use this data to send you informative or commercial messages related to our business.
How we collect information about you
Collecting information you give us when you purchase a work of art or visit us at any art fair; and information provided when you contact us by phone, email or post.
What we do with your information.
Performing agreements We use your information to: provide you with information about our artworks and services; keep you informed about artworks, artists and events that we think you will find interesting;
fulfill our obligations under agreements entered into between you and us; communicate with you;
administering our site and for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes; keeping our site safe and secure; complying with legal and regulatory obligations; and for security and to verify your identity.
We also provide this information to others as necessary to perform the contract. For example, a conservator, framer or transporters. We require these persons to handle this information with care and only use it for the purpose for which we have provided it to them.
Legal basis for processing
Our processing of your personal data is necessary: for the performance of contracts to which you are a party and to take steps at your request prior to entering into those contracts;
for the purposes of legitimate interests pursued by us; or to comply with a legal obligation to which we are subject.

Retention of personal data
We will keep the information we collect about you only as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required to comply with any legal obligations to which we are subject.
