From the top of the foremost mast a flag with the Burgundian or St. Andrew’s Cross blows, from the top of the main mast a Portuguese flag with ring sphere and at the top of the mizzen mast the flag of Porto is hoisted. An armament of about fifty pieces of artillery and bundles of throwing spears in the marches indicate the war function of this ship. As some members of the crew climb into the rigging, the four-masted ship leaves the roadstead of a city that could very well be Antwerp.
